Though I believe ALL of todays brands are well built (as they relate to their "purpose") all the brands have their strengths and weaknesses, I've always had good experiences with Honda products. When it came time to buy the bikes, the prices for the Honda's were competitive with the Yamis, Zuk's, and Kawi's. Since there was no significant price difference...Honda it was!

Well, when i was a wee pup my uncle had a CR490 I think it was or 480....Anyway got my hands on a 78' XR75 at a garage sale for like $100 got it running. Then got a 91' CR125. Then I had to sell it for some money. Finally like 8 years later have the time and money to get another bike and there were no hard choices there....I only ride RED...

My very first (brand new) street bike was a Honda. All my dirt bikes, up until I bought my 04 CRF250X were used. I had a wide verity of dirt bikes, Suzuki, Yamaha and Kawasaki. So when I saved enough to buy a new dirt bike (after everyone else in the family had a new one), I researched and decided on the 250X. As a family we enjoy trail riding. Also - from reviewing all the products of new and used, it seems that Honda retains more value used than any other bike around. Besides, I like red. :D

Seriously I bought my Hondas because of the catchy ad slogans, "At Honda, Quality is Job #1," errr, I meant to say, "Like A Rock, Honda," no, no, no, "Built CRF Tough," ummm, I guess I like red and black too.

I stuck with honda because I woke up and there was a xr100 in my garage ( left me no choice to but to ride it) and i would be disowned by my family if i road anything else. Despite the fact that the dealership is 4 times farther than every other brand dealers, it was a good choice.

I have had numerous Honda's and they have all been of the highest quality. I currently have a Honda Odyssey, a Honda lawnmower, and of course the 450X. I have owned Suzuki's, Yamaha's, and several XR's, and the quality is not even close. I put three top end's in my RM 250 in two years, and the Yamaha's had terrible transmissions... never again! I will stick with Honda!

Back in the day of the "ATC" my parents thought such vehicles were dangerous, so we couldn't own any of them, but we (as cunning little kids) borrowed.

I started riding on a (red) ATC, no suspension except what the balloon tires allowed. LOL great times.

The first bike I rode was an 1986.5, CR250. My brother bought it. WOW! I learned what a "power band" was.

Finally met a bike shop owner that wanted to help a young man get his very own first bike. He struck a deal with me. I remove my recently installed ear ring (left side) and he'd give me the bike that was torn down and in a box. DEAL!!!!!!!!
My first bike was an ATK 406. Anyone heard of it before?????
That shop owner was Claude Maynard, owner of C/M Cycle in El Centro CA. Rest in Peace my dear friend.

I quickly sold the ATK 406 and bought my brothers CR 250. What a beast.

    I bought a 1994 CBR600 F2, couldn't afford the tickets so I sold it.

Next I bought a 2001 XR400, the cadillac as all my friends call it.

I had to get onboard with adults racing the 50's, so I bought an 2003 XR50.

Needed room in the garage so I finally sold the CR250 and bought:
    2008 CRF450X
    2009 TRX500FA for the wifey.

Most of my friends have bought the blue, the yellow and the green bikes, I've ridden them all. The geometry of Honda bikes fit me better than anything else. Plus the reliability. I've never been the guy that misses a ride or slows down the group because of bike issues.

I WILL ONLY BUY AND RIDE RED. I'VE LEARN.

I grew up in a yamaha only household only because we were close family friends with the yahama dealer (the only motorcycle dealer) in our small town.

So when I decided to get back into riding after a way too long gap in riding I assumed I would be buying a Yamaha. After much research and not really being much of a Ford/Chevy or in this case Yamaha/Honda guy as they both have their pluses and minuses, I decided that I was going to buy either a Yamaha WR 250F or a Honda CRF 250 X which ever one I could find the best deal on would get the nod.

Well, with my choices narrowed I went to Craigslist and the first ad I found was for a 250x that was near showroom new. If I hadn't known better I would have said it had never been ridden - the guy bought it new trying to get his girlfriend into riding but she didn't take to it so I was able join red with a great bike at a great price - I couldn't be happier

I must admit though if the yamaha's were still yellow I would have had a very hard time resisting the pull of my youth.

Well choosing Honda wasn't really hard. My first time on a Honda was when my Dad bought two Honda odysseys. It was 1978 or 1979. We would go to Sand lake or up in Timber to ride them. A year later they both got stolen right out of our barn! He took the insurance money and bought me a Honda z50, 185 three wheeler and a 110 three wheeler. Well talk about a stoked kid! I rode the wheels off that little bike. After a couple of years I looked to step up and I bought (with my own money) a brand new 1982 xr 200. Then after a couple of years that bike was seeing its age and was in the Honda shop for some repairs and got stolen. I was heart broken. Being young and getting your baby stole was not fun. After the 30 day waiting for there insurance to pay for it I put that money on a new 1986 xr 250. well I was the sh!t! Wow what a bike. After a while I wanted more so I traded straight accross for a 1989 cr 500 that some tard bought that was way too much for him. Kept it for about 2 years then had a kid and was forced to sell her. She was a screamer even with a flywheel weight on her. Skip till 2006 and of course I'm checking out CL and there is my bike a 2005 crf450r for an incredible price! Low hours and totally stock. Picked her up the next day. Now here I am with a bugered top end ,no job and a wife that wants to kill me. Cool story sorry about the ending.
