Ok, there is a creek outside of my town here in Central Illinois. Everybody rides there. So I was out riding yesterday when a guy on a 4 wheeler tells me that 10 people were given tickets on Saturday. He claims that previously a game warden told him that as long as you were in the creek it was ok. So these 10 people get stopped by a County cop. From what he told me they started to turn around to split and the guy pulled out his gun and told them to shut them off. So from what I understood they were given tickets for trespassing. I am not sure of how far out they were as if you get real far out it I think it does go onto someone land. So any thoughts regarding waterway laws and what not? Thanks for your help. Just want to make sure I am not riding illegal.

In Michigan, state law prohibits ANY water crossings ot traversing a waterway.
