Well, just getting back into the scene after a 3 year vacation nursing 2 dislocated shoulders... One at the beach, one moving my bigscreen TV. Rode for about 6 years before that. (Yes, I actually hurt myself worse swimming at the beach than I ever have on a bike)... Anyway, picked up an '05 450R and absolutely love it, had it out twice now, and really looking forward to racing again... But anyway, just thought I'd introduce myself, so HELLO!

Rancha9...welcome to the group and back to riding/racing. i'm not surprised that you love your '05 450r...it's an awesome ride. what kind of a bike did you last own?

You were right about the fact that you can get hurt doing just about anything. I am glad that you are back to the dirt. Welcome to the group.

My first bike was a '97 XR400, loved it to death, great bike to learn on, and I'll probably find another one to keep around for those soggy, nasty woods rides. I actually used to enter it in the 250 beginner class, and could pull a couple 60 foot doubles with it (landings were a little rough, though) In case you can't tell, I kinda outgrew it... My other bike is a '96 CR250 that was owned by a guy racing contingency for Honda, so it's all hopped up. It's broken 2 people's backs (that was the reason he sold it. I felt bad buying a bike from a guy in a back stabilizer), but it hasn't tamed me yet. It's getting torn down, frame painted, re-built, ect... May trade it for an XR 400 if anyone has one...

Had the '05 at the track in Vidalia, GA last weekend, and only the 100 ft. tabletop made me nervous... Can't say enough for this mule, she inspires confidence! (Or maybe it's because I learned to race on an XR... )
