A while back my daughter crashed her 2007 CRF70F in a large mud puddle. When I started up the bike it ran poorly and took a while to clean itself out (likely burning up some amount of muddy water that it ingested). The other day I:
- Removed and cleaned the air filter setup
- Removed and cleaned the exterior of the carburetor
- I then took things apart with the carb and used brake cleaner to wipe/clean all surfaces, blow out all holes/passages, and generally de-gunk everything. Truthfully, the inside of the carb didn't really look too dirty, but I opted to clean everything anyway.
- I also removed the fuel bowl, removed the jets, and such to individually clean them.
- I reinstalled everything and then double-checked carb operation (all seemed fine). In addition, the throttle cable and carb slide seems to work fine (no hang-ups).
After reinstalling the carburetor, it now runs better throughout the rpm range. However, when at idle the rpm fluctuates ... sometimes fine, sometimes very high, sometimes too low.
Any idea the problem is?
