Okay so I bought a 2004 CRF50 for my son and the motor is stock besides for a big gun full exhaust and a k and n filter w/ stock carb. After about one minute of run time (just idling) it dies like it has no gas. Once it dies it wont start till the next day, then it starts first kick. i havent checked the jets or anything and i set the air/fuel and idle to stock settings and it didnt make a difference. Im pretty sure the jetting is stock and i dont know if it needs to be changed. The Air Filter is clean and the oil is fresh.

Check the jets as they are prob clogged. Also the float valve may be gummed up or bad so the bowl is not filling up with fuel at the speed it should. So once the bowl is sucked dry it takes a day for the fuel to fill back up. You will have to take that carb apart though.

Streetmxer is right..replace the pilot jet(its much easier than trying to clean it) and check to make sure the float is working properly. Also check to make sure the float needle is not sticking
