I've got a TrailBikes 88 kit with ported and polished racehead on my 05 crf50 right now... along with plenty of other mods, but it rips good and consistent (although now I've got the bug for more power an am looking at a takegawa 106).
Also have two other friends with the TB 88 kits, and the only real problem with them is the cheap and hard to adjust Shengway carb that comes with them. I am now using a Keihin PD22 with much better luck and performance.
I will say that the larger racehead will rip apart any other with a stocker or bbr head.
Also have a friend with a Lifan 124 and that thing is a TORQUE monster, depending on the rider, it will burn an 88, but that's comparing apples to oranges a bit. His Lifan also has the traditional shift 4spd, so one more gear on top for higher speed.
That thing leaks oil at a few different points, most notably around the kick starter, all after a season of use, but as long as he's kept an eye on the oil levels, it's run like a champ, starts up faster than my Honda, in any temperature!
I won't be running a Lifan any time soon, but I'll also no longer be making fun of them as much as I used to.
