The CRF 50 Airfilter housing rear cover is difficult to remove when gaining access to clean the filter element. Are there any issues with cutting the moulded pipe off the rear cover to make it easier to remove?

no issues in cutting the tube it will actually let it breth if you take that off and the little metal plate. You will have to adjust the fuel screw a little but it won't hurt anything. Just watch out for big water puddles.
