Need advice on making the switch from blue

    by CRF230RiPPER » Wed Sep 26, 2007 7:15 pm

I have a 2007 TTR-50 for my Son who is 6, but he is ready for a bigger bike, thinking about the 70F . Should I just modify the hell out of the 50 or should I really just move up to this bigger bike for him?....and if so...is it hard to get aftermarket parts for it?...Right off hes gonna want new plastics im sure. The 70 also has the auto clutch right?....what are the most common issues regarding these bikes?...any help would be appreciated.

There are no issues for the CRF70F. It's a bulletproof little tank.

Our daughter had one for nearly a year before she progressed to the CRF 80F and a clutch.

There are some aftermarket items for the 70F but not nearly like what's available for the 50F.

    i cant find any plastics..
cant really find much stock carb stuff..
ive got a uni pod filter and a fmf power core exhaust.
    mine is a 07

after market parts seem to be a bit scarce.
    unless its big bore kits

im 21 and just mess around with it like pit pikes. ive got a rear shock coming.

no one seems to know about my jetting questions or about the needles.

my 07 doesnt have an adjustable needle with the slots.
and it doesnt have a regular flathead screw for the air/fuel screw

XR70/CRF70 is a great step up! My daughter went from the xr50 to the xr70 and is has been great. Auto clutch Yes, mod's I believe the pipes for the 50's and 70's are the same, open the air box and jet up if you want to modify. Also a sprockeet change will help the low end. Bulletproof Yes!! Good luck.

Have you taken him to sit on the 70 yet? It might be a little tall.
