    Budds Creek

    by Jut8 » Wed Feb 23, 2005 12:14 pm

I got a chance to go to Budds Creek, MD this past weekend, if ANYONE has the chance to race down there, TAKE ADVANTAGE of it!! I drove 6 hours, and it was worth every minute of the drive!!

Yes it was a tad cold, but the track was in perfect condition, the track could not have been better. The jumps were the perfect size, the straits and corners were just so fast!! I actually hit 4th on the 450, it was a rush! It was the first time i had the 450 outdoors, i have been running at NEMX indoor SX track with it all winter, and all i can say is that i fell in love with the bike, the power was perfect for that track, and the thing handled like a dream!

I bought a GPR Damper from this website (thanks again Ken for the quick ship!!!), it was the damper i have ever ran on dirtbike (i have one on my GSXR also), and all i can say is WOW!!! I dont know how i rode without one before, ok yes it is alot of money, but what a WORLD of difference. It gave me so much confidence going through choppy sections, the bike went exactly where i pointed it, and the steering damper just kept everything smooth and undercontrol. If you have been thinking of buying one, but have been holding back for some reason, hold back no more, go buy one!!!

Anywho, it was my first race since 2001, and i got 7th out of 23 in the 250C class, i was pumped, i thought i was going to get last since i havent raced in so long, but man.....I NEED TO GET IN SHAPE!!! Anywho, Challenger in Indiana, PA is racing this sunday, so as long as isnt freezing, ill be up there.

hey, me again. There's a guy in my district that races with one arm!!!! throtle, clutch and front brake all on right side. He has a damper and swears by it. He said anyone who has one will reduce lap times big time. My buddy was at NEMX last weekend on his brand new rmz 450 and crashed big time on third lap. :P

Oh man, i feel for your friend! Where did he crash at? I always screw up the strait with the triple, i can do the jump just fine, but i cant always slow down to make the corner!!! A buddy of mine an a KXF got jacked up there also.

I am racing at Challenger this weekend in Indiana, PA (if weather permits, its supposed to snow all this week), if not, i am heading to NEMX this comming wednesday after school (im a high school applied engineering & tech teacher)

After ridding Budds though, i dont know if i can get used to ridding indoors again, budds spoiled me, and now im ready for the big outdoor tracks!!

As for the stabilizer, if you have the extra $$ BUY ONE!! use the money you are saving on the tax to get one if you can, the best investment to make you go faster that you can buy in my opinion (beside suspension revalve that is!)

Keep me updated on you bike and that track, i would definatly be willing to hook up with you and go ridding, i have summers off, and i still get paid for them, so i plan on taking quite a few road trips!
