    Factory Tracks

    by Roady » Thu Dec 22, 2005 9:29 am

Been watching the big boys practicing at the factory tracks for Kawi, Honda, Suzuki, Yamaha and KTM several times over the last few weeks in Corona. Very cool leaning on the fence watching them blast past you or walk the track or just say hello 5 feet away. Regular guys, loading their own bikes, sitting on the tailgate brown bagging it ... cool element to see them in.

You can see Kawi's track and the 15 freeway in the background on a video interview with Bubba on Transworlds site.

The iron man is definitely working harder than anyone at any other track I have visited. LaRocco is riding harder and longer than anyone else I have seen ... and that includes McGrath, Reed, Stewart, Todesco, Langston, Ramsey, Alessi ... the list goes on (no Carmicheal though). The other day LaRocco must have done 40 laps, non-stop, hard and soooo consistent while McGrath blipped around the track a few times, practiced a specific section a few times ... and went back to his lawn chair. Don't get me wrong I am an MC fan ... but there is a significant contrast in practice regimens from the Rock and every other rider I saw on all 5 tracks.

i hear you on the practice. the rock is incredible when it comes to training. i hope he's getting some new-age coaching however. he has to change some things to get faster..conditioning will only take you so far.

i am so bummed about kevin being out. even still it will be an awesome season!
