    Ricky on Yellow...U.S. Open

I was at the U.S. Open last night in Las Vegas and saw Ricky riding yellow personally! Let's just say it was great to see him racing supercross again but was tough to see him on a yellow mount!

race recap...he won his heat easily...but lost in the main against...reed. even in his heat you could visually tell he was slower than reed was in his previous heat. while i was hopeful he'd win in the main i wasn't surprised that he wasn't able to pull it off.

ricky got the holeshot and came off of turn one clean and ahead of the pack. he pulled away from reed as reed was fourth. reed quickly came up through the pack and cut inside ricky on a sharp right hander. he then pulled away. reed bobbled twice and it looked like ricky might be able to close on him and make it interesting but reed held his composure and quickly righted himself and pulled away once again. reed is so smooth it's really incredible.

regarding the REAL SX season, don't worry RC fans, this track is so small it's more like an arenacross track. ricky will be more competitive on the larger stadium tracks.

on another note, milsaps was leading the main in the 125cc class and crashed. after that he either had a problem with his bike or his head. he wasn't competitive at all after the crash. prior to that greg schnell, local to rancho cucamonga ca., held milsaps off for quite awhile.

bottom line is this year's SX season is going to be one for the history books!
