    Factory Surplus

    by slaminline » Sun Mar 06, 2011 3:37 pm

Watching Daytona and seeing brand new meets on Villopoto's ride before the main got me thinking, how do we get our hands on the factory rider's surplus? One race on a set of rims and tires... I am sure that it is not headed to the dumpster. Does anyone have any insight on where it goes and how it may be acquired???

+1 that would be the hook-up!

I wish I could tell you.

But I would think they would keep them for use at their home tracks- I would.

After each supercross race if you can get your hands on a VIP pit pass you can go down to the pits after the SX main event and watch the riders go into their trailers and the mechanics are taking apart the bikes. They hand out everything from the chains, to plastics and number plates, to fenders, to rims, and even fork guards. Usually only the factory teams do this since they get new stuff for every race. A friend of mine was lucky enough to get Justin Barcia's rear fender and front brake disk guard after the st. louis race and another friend got blake whartons chain and I got Chad Reeds front radiator graphic. :D
