The AMA announced the team that will represent the U.S. will be Ricky Carmichael, Kevin Windham, and Mike Brown. The race will be September 25th in Ernee, France. For those who think this team is a "slam dunk" to win, don't forget that they last team the U.S. sent was in 2003 consisted of Ricky Carmichael, Tim Ferry, and Ryan Hughes and they took second place to the Belgian team of Stefan Everts, Steve Ramon and Joel Smets.

I think the team is strong. It would have been interesting to have Bubba on the team to take Stefan Everts out like he has done with RC and KW. Just joking. However the race today was a lot cleaner with James not trying to run people over.

i hear you skins...i haven't seen the incident and i'm not sure they actually caught it on tape..but the description from james and the photos definitely indicate james made an error in judgement. while i understand his position that he was taking the same line in that corner as he had been all day that doesn't change the fact that this time there was someone in that line. whether he knew ricky would take the inside line or not you have to recognize multiple lines and adjust accordingly. i'm glad ricky wasn't seriously injured and it's unfortunate that it appears james suffered a head injury of some kind.

yes, the U.S. team should be very competitive.

That MX-des nations race with RC, Hughes, and Ferry; the only reason for the 2nd place finish was and injury and a mechanical failure to Ferry and Hughes. I think I remember Hughes not even finishing a moto!!
