hello guys, im trying to add a spal fan to the 02 450. i cant seem to find any upgraded stator for this model. only for the 05. will it fit?

The stators are different as far as , wiring , plug ins , number of wires , and how they work with the ECM/CDI , so basically there is nothing that will "bolt on" between those years ... pretty much it is 02 , 03-04 , 05-07, 08 , each of those has a different CDI , Wiring Harness , Connections , etc

Your only real options , since a lot of aftermarket stuff like Trail Tech , etc. has been discontinued for those early years , what you can do , is do what I did for my 02

Add a 250X overflow tank , add Engine Ice or equivalent , add a 1.6 or 1.8 , or 2.0 Radiator Cap , , add aftermarket Oversize Radiators , and that is pretty much the extent of it

The bottle helps a lot , but if you are doing serious first gear single track , you might consider finding a older 450X , and putting a fan on it , as I have a 06 X and until I got my 2020 450R , I rode a 02 , from 08 till 2020 , and I rode it single track , pretty much most anywhere I could go with my X , the downside , kickstart , and no fan , I did have a flywheel weight on it and re-geared for trails (13/52)

This is the overflow tank , you can easily get them on EBay , get a complete setup with hoses , that way all you need to do is make a mount , and your good to go , I never really overheated my bike with this setup... I know it is not what you wanted to hear , but the only other option would be to contact Trail Tech or Ricky Stator (rickystator) and see if they will custom build you one
