    450 Oil Leaks 101

by Phantom Duk » Tue Dec 18, 2018 10:25 am

So I keep hearing that the countershaft oil seal is the guilty party a majority of the time with an oil leak. I am pretty sure that's what I am dealing with.

That said, are there any other common oil leak culprits that I should be checking out? I am planning to replace countershaft seal one way or the other, but was curious on other potential issues.

    Thanks all

If its a Left side leak , then the only other common source would be shifter seal , or oil or tranny drain bolt washer too compressed and not sealing anymore , or ignition cover leaking .... Right side , clutch inner cover or tranny oil check bolt (small 10mm bolt in front of clutch cover down low)

That would be it for obvious leak areas
