CRF 450R Header pipe exhaust temps

How's it going curious if anyone knows what the temperatures on header pipes for the CRF 450R are. I have a 05 CRF 450R with a FMF power bomb on it. Over the weekend I laid my bike over on the exhaust side while riding in Glamis. Shortly after I burned a hole in the radiator hose coming out of the water pump. Noticed the clearance between the power bomb and hose is super tight so my guess is my header flexed a little bit causing it to come into contact with the hose. Looking to add some extra protection, so I'm looking at the DEI Titanium Protect-A-Sleeve to put over my coolant hose. Says it protects against direct heat up to 1800 degrees and 2500 degrees radiant heat. It seems that should be more than adequate for protecting my coolant hoses. Any Thoughts or insight? https://www.designengineering.com//cate ... r-technolo

That stuff is basically like Header Wrap , i would also loosen the header and shake it a little to settle it into position , then re-tighten , it might give you a little more room , it could have twisted in the lay over , if your water hose is that close (a lot of aftermarket headers are that way) then maybe try and loosen and twist the hose slightly out of the way , if that is not enough , then maybe trim a slight bit to get it further away , generally the headers average about 1500 degrees give or take , the longer its run without airflow the hotter the header will get , turn the lights out , and fire up the bike , you will be amazed at how red glowing it gets , even in a short time

I have the rear area where the header joins the muffler inlet pipe wrapped with fiberglass wrap. It is right where the pipe goes close to the rear shock body. It works really well for heat protection to that area. I have thought about the header pipe area out of the engine and through the bend but never wrapped it. Both heat and some scratch / dent protection. What I used was the basic exhaust wrap. Worked great.
