I have one on my bike and I like it. I also had one on my YZ250F and never had any issues with it.

The things you must watch out for with this filter is you must make sure your seal is good to the boot, and if you ride in sandy or very dusty conditions you must clean it often. But this would be with any filter in this type of condition.

The nice thing about the K&N is that it is much easier to put in and take out due to it's design.

    Hope this helps

It's very easy to clean. You can use the K&N cleaner or a bucket of water and simple green or similar. Soak it, rinse it, dry it, then oil.

I took mine out today to check on it and it was still clean. Though the conditions where I ride are very wet and muddy.

    I got a great deal on mine,,,I think I paid about $65.00.

    Hope this helps.

i'd also recommend sealing grease for the filter lid and base. here's a link:

I've got I think 3 TwinAirs with the flame retardant layer and they've been great.
The K&N though intrigues me,it's gotten some really good press in the magazines, and one thing they all say is that they stay fresh and effective a lot longer than a foam filter.
The nice thing about the K&N is that it is much easier to put in and take out due to it's design.

That is an excellent point, and so was the one you made about dusty conditions requiring a properly and newly serviced filter anyway.
I think when I get down to one TwinAir spare maybe I'll give the K&N a go. Doug

    Quick question

Does it incorporate the screen? How much is it likely to react to back fire?
