Is it a high pitched noise? If so, it's quite possible that the previous owner followed the manual when servicing (not his fault.) Assuming nothing bad has happened, that noise is likely the tranny squealing about not having enough juice. If it is, that noise will go away with a fresh change and 3/4 - 1 quart oil in the tranny.minibikepilot wrote:Thanks for the tips..I'm really happy with the bike..POWERFUL...
I'm the 2nd owner, I don't think the 1st guy changed out the tranny oil..it makes a little more noise in the motor than i think it should....needs to be adjusted..it doesn't even have 20 hours on it..
Thanks again
rotella 15w40 engine oil for both sides ? Oil and transmission ?Follow instructions for engine oil. Have used RotellaT 15W40 on mine since new (also an '06.) Available at Wally World for about $9/gallon. Use in both sides.
When doing tranny, use between 3/4 and Full quart for best performance. Don't trust fluid bolts for correct amount....measure.
Typically change the engine oil between 5 and 10 hours. Change tranny every other oil change. Keep that air filter clean. Buy extras so you're never tempted to ride a dirty one.
Enjoy the bike! You got a great year!
