I just need a new muffler!

    by y5mgisi » Sun Jun 03, 2007 4:14 pm

I wrecked my 02 pretty bad the other weekend and ruined my WB muffler. The cheapest one i have found so far is $255.00 plus shiping. I really dont care what kind of pipe i get i just need a new one with a spark arester. Got any tips on where i could find one or anyone that has one ofr sale? BTW This sight is pretty damn awesome! In fact maybe as cool as the crf450r!

If you still have the stock muffler, you can get a ProMoto Billet endcap with spark arrestor for about $125. (http://www.promotobillet.com/catalog/pr ... ucts_id=33)

That will get you down to about 96DB. They also sell a silent insert for $32.50. That will get you down in the 90 - 92DB range.(http://www.promotobillet.com/catalog/pr ... ucts_id=55)

I run this on my '05 for enduro racing, but I use it on the moto track too.... it doesn't loose power on the top end like other "quiet" pipes.

    I highly recommend it.

    Good luck.

You can probably get a stock used (practically new)muff for around $40.00-$60.00. Add the proMoto billet spark arrestor and quiet end cap for about another $160.00 and you are still under the $255.00. Then it is just another $40.00- $60.00 or so if you trash the muff but not the endcap.

Check the local shops and paper. Watch Ebay.
