    Running Quad Chain

    by poway450 » Wed Apr 18, 2007 9:21 pm

The time has come to replace the chain on an 06 450r. My friend has the 07 and replaced his with a quad chain. He put the spacer behind the counter shaft and no problems. through 10 rides no slack and no play. Has anyone else done this and if so what chain did you use. What do you recomend as the best chain for the bike?

You bet, it's the original equipment on the 450X and we've had people with a crazy amount of hours on that chain. The lack of a master link has never been a problem for me,and if it was I'd pay the shop 5-10 bucks to have them do the job, like I did when I put the VT on my 07 450R.
Plus I've never read or heard of anyone being less than 100% happy with the VT. It's gold too :D , the VT that comes on the X is the identical chain except it's black. Doug
