hey my friend gave me his 2006, rear sprocket, and i was wondering if it would work, for my 2002, the new one has 48 teeth, and the other one has 53, would it run the motor more, or what do you guys think?

it will fit for sure. it if is worn at all i wouldn't use it as it will wear your chain prematurely. a 48t will increase the top speed of your bike (meaning it will be geared higher). this will affect the low-end "torque".

yeah i have a brand new chain on it, and because it will increase the top end of my bike, does that mean that my engine will be working over time, you know what i mean.

no it won't work the engine more what it means is it will turn the rear wheel further for each turn of the countershaft sprocket.

not exactly. lets try it this way. for the same rpm you will go "faster" meaning travel further at the same RPM with the new gearing than before with the old gearing.
