    What brand of bar do you run?

    I was just wondering what types of bars people used. I am pretty stuck on making up my mind. I loved pro tapers on my old bike but when strapping down my bike in my pickup the hooks slide around because they don't have anything to grab onto (because there is no crossbar pad), except my kill switch or brake reservior.

    I was thinking about Renthall twinwalls. What do people like about them? I dig the stock renthals I got with my CRF but they have gotten a little bent from a few crashes.

    Do I have to have a no cross bar style like protaper if I want to get a stabilizer in the future? Thanks for your opinions!

    I have had Pro Taper bars on my bikes. I use the soft tie down extensions. They look like a strap with a loop at each end. They are a loot long. I loop it around my bar and then put one loop through the other, and then hook my normal tie down to it. When i put the one loop through the other it stays put. Plus, the web strap won't scratch the bars.

    Demarini are the best bars I ever owned, unfortunately you just can't get them anymore.

    i run the "stock" 7/8" renthals with a GPR and it's not a problem. there's not enough room under the crossbar so you have to make some room. i do this by taking the crossbar off and measure in the same distance on each side, put it in a vice (wrap it in a shop rag to avoid scaring the surface) and slightly bend it. direction of the bend is important...do this on each side to create enough room under the cross bar for the stabilizer. the crossbar mounts will slide down to adjust for the 'shorter' crossbar.

    I had IFS bars back in 96. I think they were made by Answer. Bent them in a wimpy crash and when I went to tweak them back they snapped like a twig!!! You could see the bar inside the bar design. I would trust $12 steel before I go near that again!

    I run Twinwalls (971 bend same as stock) with a Precision Conceptz bar mount (one piece top) on my 250R. I like them, both are thicker than stock. I thought I bent the stock 7/8" but didn't so I really didn't have to get new bars but am glad I did. It is harder to reach the fork adjusters with the Twinwalls. I also the same type of strap as Redrider. Also GPR makes a stabilizer that mounts under the bar (the V2). I don't think you would have to bend the cross bar. I'm going to get it in a month or two. I'm sure Ken can answer more questions about it than me.

    I run the "stock" 7/8" renthals. I had to replace due to a big get off on a triple. I like the feel and look. I run Scott half waffle grips modified to be like stock Honda grips. I change the grips every 5 rides as they seem to wear out at the point of palm impact. I guess Im holding on to tight.

    I have Protaper bars with the crossbar. Have not "tested" them yet.

    :D I like and use Pro Taper ( Henry CUT ) Had Miner surgery on left wrist, the Pro Taper keeps the shock down to my wrist and provide more comfort.

    I run the Tag T5 7/8" bars.Pretty tough and I test them regularly. :shock:
