    Rev limiter on a 2002

My 2002 does not have a rev limiter ( is this common for this year)? Can this cause my valves to wear out faster?
If this can wear it out what years will work on my bike?

How do you know your bike does not have a rev limiter?

I Have never hit the rev limiter on it. But I can hit it with no problem on my buddy's bike.
It is the second time I'm doing my valves I basically got one year on my bike after I bought it. Then had to replace them, rode for another year and now dead again. I do regular maintenance and do the shimming of them when they need it. I spent the extra money and went to the stainless with new springs, and other nesecary parts. Hope fully this will solve my problems. But don't want to ride it if no rev limiter will cause me to wreck them.
