    250r -450r some input please

    by Tmoneytrojan » Tue Feb 27, 2007 2:25 pm

I ride a 2005 250r pretty much stock other than white bros pro exhaust,I weight 190lbs I wouldn't say I'm the best rider in the world, but I can jump pretty good and fast through the supercross whoops but it seems like I'm working really hard some time to get over small double out of tight corners, I have not perfected the seatbounce. but I'm just wondering if I need to go up to the 450r. it seems small sometimes when I'm riding and I look over and there's a 16 year old girl riding the same bike. Did anybody else go throught this? Any opinions?

I weigh 170lbs. and bought the 250 first, to see if I liked it...I can understand why you'd be having trouble with the short-approach double...I really liked the lightness of it, but even at my weight I felt like I was a little on the heavy side for what I wanted to do on a track...if you like motocross and you're 190lbs....well, I'll put it this way: on the 450 you'll clear that double! I LOOOOOVE mine!

...well, I'm definately not a beginner...'not a pro, either...I've been in too many races to count, but was never GREAT... stopped "racing" a few years ago when I collided with somebody doing a tricky double and got hurt worse than I've EVER gotten hurt before...I still go out to local tracks regularly to ride as hard as I can 'cause I love riding, and of course I "race" other riders out there, but practice racing isn't nearly as dangerous...I guess, practicing at local tracks, I'd say I can whoop at least half the people out there...Intermediate in the VET class is as far as I ever got. 'Raced alot before VET class also. Sure, I wish I could ride like a Pro, but I'm doin' O.K., I love jumps and still approach this sport as something I'm trying to improve at...that's the pretense of MX...never stop trying to do it better.
