    :( has any one else snapped there valves if so what is the cause and is it avoidable.
    so i now need a new cylinder head and barrel think this is going too hurt the visa card :lol:
    does any one know the price of the head and where to get a second hand one.for a 2003
    hope some one can help.

    check ebay for second hand parts thats probably gonna be the least expensive way out

    if u are willing too post here email me with some photos and how much you are asking.
    i will pay for postage and pay by visa or pay pal.
    also will a 05 head fit a 03 and why was it removed.

    Hey Gordon,

    Will that fit a 03 CRF 450R? If so any Idea what you want for it.... I just trashed mine, and need to rebuild. 8)

    ...Honda hasn't changed the head, probably since it first came out I'm almost positive- call your shop just to make sure...make me an offer. The reason I had to change heads is because when mine was new, only 2 hours use, I figured I'd better check the valves...which turned out to be just fine...but I snapped a valve cover bolt by trying to torque it with a large torque wrench that, as it turns out, doesn't do "light" torque readings accurately ( use one that reads "inch pounds" rather than foot pounds)...anyhow, I couldn't remove the broken bolt so I took it to the shop (big mistake), they said the bolt couldn't be removed and I'd have to buy a NEW head, I got the new head and decided since it was off, I'd get it ported by ProCiruit...I got it ported, mentioned what had happened, and the mechanic said he could remove the broken bolt from the other head, no problem. He did. So, thanks to the expert advice from the local shop, I ended up spending a whole bunch of money I didn't need to...and I have an almost new head that I have no use for...oh well...
