Is there any "real" need to change out the head pipe on the new 450X? I've already changed the slip on but I've been told by a few guys that the head pipe is as good as any aftermarket pipe "as is"?

The 07 does have a bigger in diameter head pipe than the 05-07, so that's probably accurate info. Doug

Thanks for the info, I'll keep it stock for the time being. By the way, I was checking out your pics & noticed that your 450 has the BRP Clamp set up, did you use an offset?

I did, on Kens and SIV's (where IS he?) recommendation I went for it.
I love the thing.BRP's are a lot better looking in person than in a picture,they are beautifully finished. They should still offer red though !
It feels just like a CRF450R, except when doing say a tight 180 it steers like an RM250, and it doesn't ever try to stand up. Steering like an RM250/RMZ450 in those situations if you'v eever ridden one is a good thing.
I don't feel like I lost anything lost as far as stabilty goes and I have had it flat out, but I do have a Scotts dampener. Doug

I just installed the 22 degree offset BRP Complete setup with the sub mount scott's stabilizer. If this thing is going to corner like an RM250 that's fantastic! That's actually the bike that I had previous to this one. Looking foreward to checking it out this weekend.I'm new to this site but it's a wealth of information & helpful people. Let me know what you think, that's what it feels like to me. Set your sag at 3.5" if you want it a little more "fighter plane" in the turning and I'll bet you're real happy. Doug

I finally got to take the bike out this past weekend, Went to a motocross track here in So Cal, Incredible difference. The sag, triple clamps and stabilizer all kept things tracking in the right direction. I did realize ne thing though that no equipment can correct....I'M SLOW! Hopefully I can correct that on my own!!! Thanks for the advice.
