Shutting Down

    Shutting Down

    Have a 100
    after riding about 3/4 hr it shuts down
    have to wait until it cools down before
    it will start again

    any ideas

    Your not leaving the choke on are you?? Never heard of that happening before...

    Make sure the vent on the gas tank is open, not clogged.

    Could be a "vapor lock".

    My 100 stalls every once in a while when it is hot but it starts right back up. I don't know what is up with your bike.

    Same exact thing happened to my wife yesterday while we were riding. After a couple of hours it just started sputtering and died. It did this three times before we could get back to the trailhead. I was assuming it may be her plug fouling out since we just bought it a few weeks ago and I haven't changed the stock plug.

    Also, check your air filter. If it is dusty where you ride you will need to clean it more often, very dusty here over the weekend and this is when my wifes started having the same issue. Spoke to the Honda shop yesterday and the service guy told me this is something he sees alot when conditions get very dry and dusty.
