I just got a new Barnett clutch kit for my 04' CRF100, but when I started to install it I couldn't get the outer housing off. Does anyone have any tricks? (I tried my hands and pliers.)

Clutch Kit - I assume you just mean friction plates, metal plates and springs.

Drain the clutch - or lay the bike on its side (lazy mans track day change)

Outer housing - you mean the clutch cover
Just remove "ALL" the bolts and tap it lightly in a few spots with a non maring plastic hammer it should just pop off then.

If you are refering to the clutch pressure plate.
Put the bike in gear. the compression from the motor should keep the clutch basket from spinning. (or you can use air tools) Now remove the 6 bolts that hold the retainer and the springs.

Simple right - just make sure you lube the new plate individually as you install them and torque the springs and retainer properly and add new oil. ;)

Thanks. I was talking about the pressure plate and I put the bike in gear and got the nut of with ease.

Sweet - that is my (at the track method) but I usually use the quick hit of the impact wrench at the home. It increased the fun factor.

Glad to here you got it off and can get back to the important things - you know riding it!
