    by crf100rider21 » Tue Apr 11, 2006 5:01 pm

my chain will randomly tighten and loosen by itself all the time like i will go down the rode to a lake bottem we ride at and it will be very tight so in fear of breaking my chain again i go home to loosen it but when i get there it is now looser than at the lake does anyone know why this is happening

Something is not tight enough for it to be changing on you. Are you sure your getting enough torque on everything after your adjustment? Are you using a torque wrench?

thats a common xr100/crf problem. its those cheap chain adjusters. You either have to take a wrench with you when your riding or deal with it till you get back. those things break very easily too

when your done putting the proper slack (1-2 in. of play) on the chain----PUT THE COALS TO THE AXLE NUT---IT'S SLIPPIN.
