CRF80 Clutch very hard to pull - tips requested

    by ncj01 » Mon Nov 28, 2005 8:40 am

I have a 2004 CRF80 that I bought to ride with my son on his CRF70.

The clutch on this 80 is very hard to pull, like i have to white-knuckle it to get it pulled.

I tried to move the little lever thing that's down on the engine (that the cable pulls), and it was so resistant to movement that I couldn't do it with my bare hands....translation: I don't think the resistance is in the cable itself.

Any tips/suggestions on how to get it easier to pull? I just changed the oil, that didnt' help.

    thnx.N
sorry ya'll, i've got back to the darkside...

Well I have a 100f and the adjuster is under that rubber flap and if you unscrew it to the left it will loosen your clutch and make it easier to shift

Any tips/suggestions on how to get it easier to pull? I just changed the oil, that didnt' help.

I put a Magnum 30% clutch lever on my son's xr80 and it made a big difference. He said it works much better. Here is the link to their web page.
