Ok, I have always played with the jetting and air box mods on every bike Ive had. Today I do a TTR125 and had to unveil the Air Screw to get to it. Then got to the CRF100 and it did not have a brass cover but the screw had a D shaped head. Also the needle had only one notch. What gives?

Ever get the feeling that Honda doesn't want you messing with their stuff???

There is a tool from Motion Pro, a D shaped bit for use on those screws. Most just shove on an electrical butt splice crimp connector and use that to turn the screw.

Order the needle from the earlier years...they have adjustment slots.

Yeah, I ended up getting the needle out of a 1985 XR100 for adjustment but I had used the air screw for something else. I will try the method you mentioned.
