Worn crf 100 cam journals by foreshore » Mon Nov 16, 2009 4:33 pm
hi there, im new found this place looking to solve a problem with my crf 100. it stopped running some time and after a little strip down found the cam shaft as slack as any thing and by the looks the chain has slipped a tooth or 2 which im guessing from the chain being slacker than slack and the wear in the cam shaft holder and the bottom journal. I guess a new cam shaft holder is needed but my question is do i need to get a new head as well.or can this be machined in some way and repaired? when i checked the play in it by moving the cam sprocket there was a good few mm movement and its an egg shape where the round cam shaft should fit nicely.how does the oil get to this top part of the engine as im guessing this wear could be down to lack of lubrication?
