    Moving clip on needle jet

    by WillCRF » Wed Jul 27, 2005 8:17 pm

On my boys 2002 XR100's, I am moving the clip up one slot on the neddle to get the bikes ready for a high altitude trip to Colorado.

Can anyone guide me on how to get the needle and throttle valve assemble back together prior to sliding it in the top of the carb. There is a little clip spring (not the clip on the needle) that somehow keeps the needle postioned in the throttle valve with a large spring that fits over the whole assembly. The manual I have simple states to add the clip but does not show any pictures on how the clip spring actually is seated.

Hopefully this makes sense for anyone out there who has changed the clip position on the needle.

    Thanks,

    Will

Let me answer my own question after some trial and error......the spring clip simply lays flat in the bottom of the throttle valve resting over the needle clip. Then the main spring slides over the assemble and is inserted back in the top of the carb once the throttle cable is attached to the throttle valve.
