dump it or stick with it?

new to the site, im glad i found it.

i am new to riding, but i now do a hell of a lot of trail riding. i have a 100 (2007), but beat myself up every since i learned of the 150r. whats better in the long run, just go ahead and save the money, trade it in and get something better. or appreciate my bike and constantly add specs to it for some good trail riding? I saw a 100 completely modified by bbr that had an awsome performance rate. i know over time i can afford to make it as good as what i saw. what do you all think?

    i had the same problem
    i hav a 2003 xr100r
same bike just a later year
i hav done a couple cheap mods and it performs awesome
my advice is that you do the cheap mods and maybe a pipe or something then learn how to ride better then sell it and get a 150r or a 125 2 stroke or a 250f
how big are you (heigth weighth age)

im 28, 5'8, 165lbs. im mostly into trail riding, if that helps to fit a bike for my size. what mods did you do to yours and in what order? and why that order if there is a reason why?

well it doesnt matter what order you do it in but i hav done several mods which i will list them below
20w fork oil (fill to 100mms below the top of the forks when the forks are fully compressed)
removed the baffle and spark arrestor from both intake and exhaust
    removed the snorkel
    uni air filter
    rejet the carb
    52t rear sprocket
but i think your best bet is to sell the 100 and buy a 250x its basically the trail version of the 250r
and theres a whole bunch of similar mods that you can do to make the 250x faster instead of wasting your time with the 100

I tend to agree with Zak on this... I have both a CRF100 and a 250x.. (the 100 is my daughters). For the 100, I put 20wt oil in the forks, I put a FMF powercore 4 pipe, modded the airbox, rejetted it and the bike runs absolutely flawless. This is as far as I will go with it. From there, I highly recommend trading up. The 100 is great platform but I don't think mod'ing it beyond what I've done makes any sense.

A 250x is a HUGE step up from a 100f: performance, suspension, handling, etc. and its very tall compared to the 100 (you can lower it)...
