2003 CRF150F Cam sprocket not turning

I had removed and reinstalled the cylinder head cover thinking I could get to the valves easier for clearance check. Oops, I did not realize the rockers were on the cover so that defeated the purpose. While there, I removed the cam sprocket and chain and then reinstalled ensuring cam lobes down and sprocket hash marks aligned with casting, and ensured piston was at top dead center. The chain tensioner was replaced and set appropriately.

The problem is the cam sprocket feels like it is binding up and not turning when I manually crank. Does the cam go bad (bearings?) or possibly the chain come off the lower sprocket behind fly wheel?

Got it figured out. The cam chain had come off the lower cam sprocket. I was able to see it when removing the left engine cover.

I was thinking that was the issue.
Looks like you already have a few bikes you play with so that’s why you worked it out so quick.
