    Crf150f won't pull

    by Ukcatz24 » Wed May 28, 2014 7:04 pm

Hello. New to forum. Bought my son a 2006 crf150f. This bike has been exceptional for him until today. He went trail riding today with friends for about 5-6 hours. Bike did great, until he loaded it up and brought it home. When he unloaded it, started it, put it in gear and it will barely pull.

Anyone have any suggestions? Any help would be appreciated as we are new to bike repairs.

welcome to CRF's Only. check the easy stuff first. make sure the fuel tank breather is allowing air into the tank. make sure there's fuel in the tank and the fuel is flowing freely to the carb. make sure there's not a plug in the exhaust. if so on all counts, you'll have to provide us with more information. is it starting well? will it rev the full range of RPM's? is the clutch fully engaging? etc.

    again, welcome.

Ok. Thanks for the reply. We did check the bike out again today and all fuel related issues are a non factor. We did tighten the chain.
When we put the bike in gear it will not pull. Revs fine, just no pulling. Can actually sit in first gear, with clutch disengaged, and it will not move. When you give it gas it does pull somewhat, but won't even pull up a 8" step into our garage.

Any help other advice would be greatly appreciated.

if you are able to leave it in gear with the clutch engaged, motor running as normal and it will not move then you likely have clutch issues.

That's what I was thinking. Just wanted another opinion.

    Appreciate the feedback.

Jut wondering, what was the eventual cause for the problem and how was it corrected? (My grandson is having the same problem!)
