New Springs?

I looked at the BBR springs which state they are "30% stiffer" than stock. Is that worth it? Is there anything stiffer? I don't want to drop like 150 plus bucks just to see that I still bottom out left and right.

i upgraded to a racetech spring before because i out weigh the stock spring and got great results. what isa your riding weight and what is the stock setup for and is the sag or preload set on the bike for your weight. race tech has a calculator on their site that will tell you the stock rating on your bike and what your spring size should be per your weight.

Racetech eh? That calculator seemed like marketing jargon, but if others swear by it, I can't argue.

the reason i ended up with racetech is because my friend has the whole gold valve kit on his bike and it rides like its hovering above the ground. i rode his and then bought 450 the next day and man was i pissed that mine wasnt that soft. so i have the spring now and it does perform better but i am a 285lb rider. i will soon buy the gold valve kit though. but i would imagine that most brands are all pretty good but that is the only one i have any dealings with. hope it helps

I have the BBR Springs front and rear. They do not bottom out but some times (like in rocky trails) it almost seems too stiff. I kinda just bounces you around.

hey guys, you have a choice, stay with stock spring and have more chance to bust your fork, or buy the BBR spring (only spring that fit in a 150F) and can jump longer, little highter and have less chance to bust your fork?
If you want to jump more or you are heavier than normal rider, I recommend them, oterwise if you don't need them, stay with stock spring

change the fork oil, then put the fresh oil up to 5.5" from top (w/o the spring in & forks compressed), then put the stock spring back in.
changing the weight of the oil makes a difference too if you want it even stiffer.
its a bit cheaper than new springs, and at only $10 & 20 min of work...
made a huge difference on our 150 & 230

yeah, I got stock spring, but instead of the 7w oil I put 15W, I didn't bottom out with the 15W

you have lot of money to waste
well, cr85 fork are really good, but I won't pay like 1600$ to put them on my 150 if I can buy stiffer spring for 150$, yeah I know they are stiff but I prefer 150$ to 1600$
