    by Locascio » Mon Feb 05, 2007 6:00 am

Can anyone expalin this to me, why I would want to uncork my bike, the pro's and con's, as well a good how to. Seem's like there is alot of uncorking info in these boards but it is scattered and needs to be pieced together. Can we get it all into one thread? Thanks Guys!

Basically, the upside is you get more power out of your 150. the downside is your bike will be louder.

At least thats what I think

"Scattered Info" is, unfortunately, part of the nature of online boards like CRFsOnly. There are some "How-To's" on the main page, but there is not one specifically for the 150. Check out the thread below. It should give you a pretty good idea of what "uncorking" is all about, as it relates to the 150, and how to do it. If you have further questions, just post. Someone will help you through it.

Basically, the more airflow you can provide to a carb, the more fuel it can suck in with it. The more air/fuel mixture, the more power. Mind you...that is an EXTREMELY basic explanation of the air/fuel thing. When doing these modificiations, it's essential to get the right air/fuel mixture. Too much fuel in the mixter m ight foul plugs and cause other issues. Too much air in the mixture and you have a hot running bike that might grenade on you.

Use the search feature and use criteria words like "150", "cork", "snorkel", "power", "power up", etc. Believe me, you will get tons of hits.

    Good Luck!
