    It's bound too happen if you do take off the snorkel, i cant see how you would avoid not getting water in it everytime you ride.

    Witch if you do get water in it, it's not going to do your bike any good. :roll:

    As long as you don't "submarine it", you'll be fine. I notice that dirt gets in there after washing it with my pressure washer. Just wipe it clean when you clean/inspect your air filter (hopefully pretty frequently) and it's not a big deal. It was worth the trade off to remove the snorkel and open up the box. After jetting it, it has much better throttle response and just feels better (like it's not being held back).

    A few small little holes drilled in the bottom of the airbox will drain away any pooling water that is there. If water can get up to where the snorkel is.. it will go in whether there is a snorkel or not.
