ok i got a new sprocket (51 tooth from jt) and it doesnt fit. i got the chain on and it was grinding on the chain-stay thing so i took that off but i cant get the wheel to pull back far enough to slide the axel back in and the chain does have some slack(probably right around what its supposed to have) with the wheel forward
thanks for helping

you need to replace the chain and measure out a new chain link. Lay them down and add the extra 3 teeth. I'm guessing three. You have a 51 and stock on a 03-05 is a 48 and would be three. Stock on a 06-07 is a 47 and would be 4 which in pretty big jump. You should always replace the sprockets (front and back) and the chain so they can wear together. You could damage your new sprocket with the old chain if its streched out bad.

I prefer the non 0-ring. It's more maintenance, but I feel it's worth it. Just clean it more. If you get the right size (length) chain it shouldn't grind. I like the 520 gold race chain by rk.
