    06 question battery and clutch

    by dk54red » Sat Nov 25, 2006 6:22 pm

I am having alot of trouble with starting my bike, it's an 06 150 with the 225bbk. The e start is just not turning it over. Someone here told me about rolling it back(top dead center trick) put it back in neutral and try it, and it is hit or miss now. If I get it started and ride for twenty minutes, it will usually start with the TDC trick. I have let the battery die a few times and might need to be replaced. The battery is reading 12.8 dc. I think I've heard that it can read good, but not have enough cranking amps. Does any one know how I could put a compression release on it?

I have another problem. When in neutral the back wheel spins freely, but put it in gear and pull in the clutch and I have to push the wheel to get it to spin. I noticed it tring to push start it. I have tried to adjust the clutch cable and got no where. I have a new set of barnett clutch plates and springs, I just haven't wanted to stop riding yet. Does it sound like the two are related?

From what you are saying about the clutch its the "clutch actuator'. This is what my repair shop told me after I couldn't get my bike to shift out of 2nd gear after I replaced the stock clutch setup with the Barnett one. I took it apart and reassembled it 3 times doing everything i could think of and then i gave up.
