    Wheel Help

    by DylanYoung » Wed Apr 07, 2021 9:19 am

    Hello,
I am currently looking to make my 2016 crf230f street legal, but when it comes to the wheels I was thinking on buying another set so that I still have the option to throw the nubbies on when I want to do a little more severe off roading. I am trying to go as cheap as possible and do a lot of the work myself over time. I found a set of front and back wheels from a 2010 CRF250R for $300, which from what I've seen is a good deal, but I noticed the rear tire on the 2010 250R is 100/90-19, whereas the 2016 CRF230F is 100/100-18. Fronts are the same.
Will the 100/90-19 fit my bike? if so will it effect any performance out of the bike?
I am not sure if buying a new set is the smarter choice so I am open to any recommendations or ideas
I am new to all tire/rim talk, and know very little.

Hi Dylan and welcome to the site.

I think a better option would be to get a set of 230F wheels.

The axle will be the same and brakes swap over at back easily instead of going drum to disc.

It is more than tyre size that is different.

It starts,it runs,it gets to where all CRFs can get to without the valve or valve plate dramas
