Yeah Neil, It is always best to check he simple things first.
Been to more then one bike being torn down only to have to break the news that you needed to be on reserve to get it to start. A simple bike shake may produce a sloshing, but doesn’t mean “you got fuel “.
The good earth from the battery is just as important as good wiring to the starter.
