CRF230F oil drain bolt torque 11 ft lb?

Hi all. I'm a bit new to dirt biking but not new to motorcycling. I ride a street bike but this is my first dirt. I just picked up a 2007 CRF230F.

One of the first things I did was an oil change. I always try to follow manufacturer's suggestions so when I put the drain bolt back in I tightened it up to 11 ft lb (15 Nm) like the owner's manual suggests. 11 ft lb seemed a bit low to me but I did what the book said.

About a day later I went out into the garage and saw a drip on the floor just under the drain bolt and sure enough there was a very slow leak from there. So, I just snugged it up a little tighter and so far it seems to have stopped the leak.

Is 11 ft lb the correct torque? Could something else be going on? I checked and cleaned the spring, filter and O-ring and everything seemed to be in working order. I don't want to over-tighten and risk cracking something.

Thanks in advance.

does it have a crush washer, and is it new or old?

Thanks for the response. It does not have a crush washer but according to the owner's manual it shouldn't. The manual only shows filter, spring, O-ring and bolt. See below...

You probably just need a fresh O-ring.

I can't seem to find a parts catalog anywhere online. How do I know the specs of the ring? Do I really need to go to a Honda dealership just to buy and O-ring?

Just order one from CRFs only , they will get one to you. sorry about my earlier info, I thought you were referring to a drain plug.

Thanks. I'll bookmark that site. Does anyone know where I can download a parts guide? I have one for me street bike and it's been invaluable when I need to know a part number or understand if a part is missing.
