Hi Everyone

I am looking to replace my CRF230F rear shock I am looking at puchasing a Works performance shock although I was wondering if anyone can advise me if they have replaced there shock and it they found it was worth while.

also to note I have found that I can order a replacement shock in NZ through.

although am I better to get a works shock or this YSS shock

my main concern is when I ride its normally 45min circuit trail rides. and I was not sure if the main reason that my shock has failed was due to over heating. also I find when I ride I get a sore rear and I only reasontly found out that my shock was stuffed and that was prob the cause but is it worth replaceing the seat I weight about 190LB with gear

Any suggestion would be really helpful

Oh and if I get the pro shock should I get an adustable compression unit?

I'm in the UK and we use an aftermarket 'Hagon' rear shock which is nearly £300 and doesn't sound as good as the 2 you have mentioned. Many good reports of the WORKS shock, no idea about the YSS one but the length adjustability is a bonus :D

You asked for tips?

STAND UP let your legs absorb some of the movement instead of your ARSE

No arguments with what was previously said.. I went a cheaper route (but more time consuming) and installed a late 80's xr 600 shock. Really pleased with the result.

eoth,
I am doing the same with my 230 Dual Sport project. Did you have a new hose made for the remote reservoir or what? Pix?

I'll have to take a pic later. Yes I had a new longer hose made up at the local hydraulic supply store (30 bucks). The only change I made other than that was to add a 90 degree elbow on the resivoir so that the hose routed along the side rather than sticking straight out...
