    compession ratio

    by gal8x » Tue Mar 20, 2007 12:00 pm

I would like more horsepower from my 230 (short of a bigbore kit). the stock compression for a 230 is 9.0:1.

can i not replace the stock piston with one that will yeld 10.5:1 or 11.0:1 ?

What’s done to the bike now? Is it stock?

uncorked, 14 tooth primary, cr250 front end, fuel/air screw, t4 exhaust, Maxxis ti desert tires.

the bike has plenty of mid to top end but i would like a little more on the low end without sacrificing the gearing. a bigbore kit is what i want but that takes $1500 and two-three months down time. (maybe next year)

Wiseco makes one at 11.0:1. No boring, just replace. I have in my 230.

Also swap in a new cam. Coeshow makes one that is designed for more low and mid.
