    Back bake went out

    My back brake went out and i have no idea why


    haven't taken it apart yet to look but what should i be looking for

    The adjusting nut on the end of the rod.

    Building new wheels and doing maintenance tomorrow, maybe get out on Sunday for a blip or two.

    Trails and desert. I'm too old and too fat to be effective on a track, but it sure is fun every once in a while... :D

    What boots are you looking at?? And what part of the world are you in?

    The 230 rear brake is a very simple system. The foot lever moves the actuator arm #7, which rotates the Pin #3, which has two flat sides in which the brake shoes sit.

    When the pin rotates, flat sides separate the two shoes forcing them apart and against the drum. The springs return them to the resting position so the don't drag.

    Take your wheel off and inspect all parts. Something is amiss in the brake. Shoes worn, arm loose, shaft worn, etc.
