    Works performance shock install?

    by krisrtch » Tue Feb 27, 2007 1:29 pm

For those of you who have installed the works shock on the 230. How long of a process is it. I finally got mine in today 3 weeks after ordering it. They were running behind. i'm gonna throw the BBR Link on it also. To level my bike a ittel more after putting on my rm 250 forks. Just curious in about how long it takes to install the shock.
    Thanks.

I installed mine last weekend. The process was very easy. I did not change links, I'm using a CR85 front end so running the stock rear suspension height keeps the bike level. Once you remove the stock shock, feed the reservior up through the swing arm and then out through the frame rails on the left side then over the battery box. The shock bolts right up. It's a 1/2 hour job.

got it put in last night no major problems except that the spring is hitting the right side of the swingarm. Any ideas how to fix? It isn't binding it bounces nicely alot more springier than stock. just want to get it right before I go racing SAT. I have very little time on saturday to get this fixed. as I'm going out of town.Image

    Works shock

My Works shock also created a dream ride with zero adjustments. On top of that, I'm a whole lot less fatiqued after a days riding now that I don't bouce around so much. You're KYB forks look great!! I wish you lived close to Seattle because I'd sure like to have someone on hand who has done the fork conversion before trying it. I know about the dirt magazine articles about how to do it but I'm just not comfortable diving in without someone live to ask questions of if I get into trouble.
