New at the dealership here in CA (Temecula) they are $1299. I am sure with some negotiation we could get'em down a bit. I have seen CRF 50's in the classifieds for around $850-$900, with a few upgrades/mods.

As soon as his wrist heals, and he is 100% we will be in the hunt.

Did your son start out with the training wheels?

Nope no training wheels thought about it but said screw it. The one in the picture picked it up instantly. It all came naturally to him. He wanted to go into 2nd and 3rd the day he started riding it. My youngest I had to chase behind him and hold it up, talk about getting tiring. LOL but after I was tired of running behind my youngest I just let him go and he got the hang of it pretty quick.A few spills here and there but nothing broken made sure they were completly geared up. My oldest in the pic races his and my youngest races a mini 70CC knock off quad. I race my 230 so it defiantly a family affair when we goto the track and a costly one too I might add LOL Racing get exspensive! but it's all worth it to see my two grow and get better at riding.

I got it in December and been having a blast on it. I like it great. fits me good. it's been 20 years since i've been on one so didn't want to jump on 450 right off the bat. Since i've done the suspension upgrades It is even better. since there are no real trail riding down here in florida all I can ride are pretty much tracks which I enjoy. I'm starting to hang with some of the 450's but not many. I just have to get the kohonies to try and take soem of the jumps. I took a double yesterday that I never hit before was kind of exciting. came up about a foot short and shot me side ways but was able to gas it and pull her straight.

We got a 50 for the kids in Sept. My son is 5 and daughter 7 - they share it and each have there own gear but share the helmet and boots for now. The deal was he had to be able to touch both feet and be able to pick it up himself before we would get it. We were in a dealer showroom full of bikes and my 5 year old wanted to show his mom he was ready for the bike so he just pushes one over and picked it up. I thought we were gong to have to buy the scratched and dented version right there on the spot. We ended up with a TTR50 so they could have the button like dad. Its a great feeling to be riding along in a field with them
