Fair enough, kid, thats cool. I remember 16, I would only do it again if I could know what I know now. How your 230 running, did you get the jetting done? Here's my wifes 230....it has the R4 exhaust, power up kit, and upside downs Showas, it rips.

well the jetting, along with the exhaust will cost more than 300$..and i'm thinking to myself this is only going to give a little more horse power,so its not really worth it.

I'm just going to get a bigger bike once i'm done paying off this one.

    thanks for all your help

The power up kit is cheap, I think $20+ bucks, and easy to install. You can remove the baffle (free) or buy an exhaust insert for pretty cheap that will yield the same or near results as a fancy exhaust. Give those a try, I tell you we had a stock 230 before and this bike with the mods is way faster, both bottom end and top. Some of the best mods are cheap, you don't have to get too fancy. Most dealers(good dealers) will have the power up kit in stock. I can also show you how to open the airbox, also free.

yea i'm going to remove the baffle, and the airbox restrictor..its easy enough.

the dealer i went to said that they don't make jet kits for crf230's,well he did think they did.And he looked for it right infront of us but couldn't find it.he said that i would have to buy the jet separately, and the needle separately.ill give it a try...

Your dealer is correct, they do not make jet kits for the 230f. You have to order them seperatley, the part numbers are in the sticky at the top of this forum. Also do not remove your air box restrictor plate and exhaust baffle until you rejet.

I highly recomend these basically free mods aswell. As nminus1 said there is definatley a great power increase all across the board. I have rejetted and removed the restrictor plate and back fire screens and installed a uni air filter. I had also installed a pro circuit t-4 but scratched that in favor of a custom system that I had built using the stock can with the baffle removed, i know that sounds crazy but the system i constructed outperforms the t-4 by a longshot imo. I am 6' tall and 195lbs and before these mods my 230s front end never though about leaving the ground, but now i can pick it up in 2nd and keep it up all the way through third without and issue.

    Good luck and happy riding

Here are the part numbers CK, your dealer is as dumb as a rock.
part # 16012-kps-921 needle, and the part number for the 132 jet is 99113-ghb-1320.
Get both the new needle is much different from the stock one. Try those first. If you open the airbox a lot you might want to go up one size on the pilot jet.
